Geraldine “Geri” Walker, age 69, of Princeton, past away on Sunday, April 14th, 2013 at her home after a 31/2 year battle with ALS Lou Gehrig’s Disease. 

 

Geri was born on October 6, 1943 to William A. & Antoinette (Loconto) Arnold in Gary.

 

On May 9th, 1964 she married David Walker in Miller. 

 

She worked as a Food Sales promotional worker with ASM Marketing for 32 years, working through the Wal-Mart Store in Princeton, IN since its opening. If you were ever at Wal-Mart in Princeton and was offered a free sample to taste it was probably by Geri. She loved all who worked at Wal-Mart calling them her family and kids.

 

She is survived by her mother, Antoinette of Oakland City and her loving husband, David Walker of Princeton. Other survivors include, daughter, Lisa Wallace of Mount Carmel, Ill. and granddaughter, Tayah also of Mt. Carmel, Ill.. She is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as special friends; Bert (Chuck) Fowler of Portage, IN and Myrna Tinsley (Fiancé – Bill Hussey) of Mt. Carmel.

 

She is preceded in death by her father, William, and special grandmother, Florence Loconto.

 

There will be a celebration of her life through a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20th, 2013 at Doyle Funeral Home, located at 520 S. Main St., Princeton, IN 47670 with Pastor Tony Edwards officiating. All Wal-Mart employees are asked to wear your Wal-Mart shirts and name tags in honor of Geri. 

 

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 20th, 2013, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. David and the family would like to express their thanks to the VNA Hospice for their special care.
