Francis L. Murphy, 82, of Vincennes, passed away Tuesday April 2, 2013 at 2:03 a.m. at the Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was born March 15, 1931 in Vincennes the son of Ulysses S. Sr. & Wilhelmina Utterbach Murphy.
He was a graduate of Lincoln High
School, Vincennes University, Indiana State University and Oakland City College where he earned his Masters Degree. He was a retired
teacher of Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Princeton Community High
School
where he taught for over 34 years. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force
during WW II and Korea.
He is survived by his family,
a brother James (Sam) Murphy of Vincennes, his sisters, Nellie McClure-Hill,
and her husband David of Vincennes and Nancy Sanderfer
of Summerville, SC.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, three brothers, Ulysses Murphy Jr, and
Robert Glenn Murphy and Thomas L. Murphy in infancy and two sisters, Mary Alice
Ruble and Delia Irene Owens.
Funeral Services will be
celebrated Saturday April 6, 2013 at 1 p.m.
with Rev. Thomas Anderson officiating at the Duesterberg-Fredrick
Funeral Home located at the corner of IN441 & U.S. 150 in Vincennes, IN.
He will be laid to rest in
the Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive
friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
