Larry “L.D.” McKannan, 71, of Francisco passed away on Wednesday, April
10, 2013 at his home.
He was born on Feb. 7, 1942 in Chicago, Ill. to David and Dorothy (Turpin) McKannan.
He lived in Francisco since
1966, coming from Petersburg. He was a bridge-building foreman for Norfolk
Southern Railroad, where he worked for 37 years. He was a member of Oak Grove General Baptist Church in Oakland City. He loved his grandchildren and his dogs, Daisy, Lady
and Lucky. He also enjoyed fishing and antique John Deere tractors. He
was a member of the Antique Machinery Assoc.
He is survived by his wife,
Carolyn “Sue” McKannan of Francisco; three sons,
Jeffery David McKannan, Darren “Scott” (Valerie) McKannan and Michael Todd (Tonya) McKannan
all of Francisco; four grandchildren, Jace, Aaron,
Nick and Taylor McKannan; and a brother, Jerry McKannan of Francisco.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; and twin brother and sister, Roy
Ray McKannan and Shannon Faye Reneer.
Funeral Services will be held
at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Gene Burkhart. Burial will be at Atkinson Chapel Cemetery in Oatsville.
Visitation will be from 5
until 8
p.m. on Sunday at Colvin
Funeral Home.
