Edward F. Hirsch, 65, 0f Haubstadt, IN, passed away on Thursday, Apr. 11, 2013 at his residence, surrounded by family and friends. 

 

He was born on Oct. 31, 1947 in Haubstadt, IN to the late Roy Hirsch and Mary E. (Martin) Hirsch, who survives him.

  

Ed was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, the Haubstadt Knights of Columbus, the U.M.W.A. Local .  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, during the Vietnam War.  He retired coal miner working as an Operations Engineer.

  

Besides his father, Ed is also preceded in death by his sister, Sue Clemens.

  

Ed is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda (Lamey) Hirsch of Haubstadt, his mother Mary E. Hirsch of Haubstadt, IN, 2 children Brad M. (Mallory) Hirsch of Evansville, IN, Brandon E. (Hannah Murray) Hirsch of Bloomington, IN,  7 brothers and sisters, Robert Hirsch of Haubstadt, IN, Shirley Myers of Stone Mt. GA, Jackie Bent of Fort Branch, IN, Peggy Buente of Booneville, IN, Kenny Hirsch of Haubstadt, IN, Donnie Hirsch of Darmstadt, IN, and Jane Rhodes of Haubstadt, IN.  He is also survived by 1 grandchild, Lexi Hirsch.

  

A Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, Apr. 15, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN, Fathers Tony Ernst, Brian Emmick, Kenneth Betz will be co-celebrants, with burial be in church cemetery. 

 

Visitation will be on Sunday, Apr. 14, 2013, from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, and again from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church on Monday   

 

A rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. Sunday evening at the funeral home.  A military service will be conducted by the Fort Branch VFW Post # 2714 and the Haubstadt American Legion post #194.
