Kaye Turpin age 67, of Mount Carmel, Ill., formerly of Princeton, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 in Mount Carmel.

 

She was born in Princeton, on Sept. 23, 1945 to John William & Lavonna (Young) Wood, both of whom precede.   

 

She is a 1963 graduate of Princeton, High School and was an avid bowler and golfer.  

 

She was a 20 year member of the Princeton Country Club winning several club tournaments. She was formerly employed at Potter & Brumfield as well as working for 20 years both full time and part-time at the Gibson County Courthouse in the assessor’s office.  She was instrumental in starting Williams Brothers Pharmacy in Princeton, IN and until her passing she was the treasurer and secretary for B&H producing in Mount Carmel.

 

In 2009 she was married to Philip Barnhardt IV in Pike County.

 

She loved her family and friends and in her words, “”loved working in the “Oil Patch.”” Her life was kept busy with four sons and nine wonderful grandchildren and a husband that she loved dearly.

 

She is survived by her husband, Philip Barnhardt IV of Mount Carmel, four sons; Dan Turpin of Princeton, Dave (LaDonna) Turpin of Evansville, Derek Turpin of Evansville and Daryl (Natalee) Turpin of Nashville, Tenn. She is also survived by one brother, John (Sherrie) Wood of Matthews, N.C. and two sisters; Pam (Dick) Jackson of Milton, FL and Kathy (Spiro) Karakizis of Melbourne, Australia. Other survivors include her grandchildren; Austin Campbell and Dillon, Alexandria, Tyler, Sierra, Allison, Drake, Hunter and Taylor Turpin and great grandchild, Trenton Campbell.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters; Judy & Vicki Wood.

Funeral services will be Saturday Feb. 16, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Doyle Funeral Home, located at 520 S. Main St. Princeton, IN 47670, with Pastor George Prinzing officiating.  Private graveside services will take place at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Carmel, IL.

 

Visitation will be Friday Feb. 15, 2013 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Doyle Funeral Home.
