Richard N. Parks, 69, of Boonville, IN and formerly of Oakland City, passed away on Tuesday February 19, 2013 at his home in Boonville.

Richard was born on March 17, 1943 in Mt. Carmel, IL to Rev. Orvil & Dimple (Stuart) Parks.

He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of Evansville. He had worked at Alcoa. He was a US Army Veteran. 

He is survived by his 2 brothers, William Parks of Cunningham, TN and Stuart Parks of Petersburg; 3 sisters, Gloria White of Mt. Carmel, IL, Mary J. Thompson of Lawrenceville, IL and Norma J. Chesser of Oakland City; several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hershel, Kenneth and Larry Parks; and a sister, Charlene Russell. 

Graveside Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City with Pastor George Bruce officiating. Burial will follow.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 PM on Friday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City.
