Dr. John A. McCleary, 55, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at his home after seven and one-half years of a
courageous walk with brain cancer, which he fought with everlasting faith,
grace, dignity, courage and strength.
He was a loving and devoted
husband, father, brother, son, uncle and son-
in-law.
John was a member of CenterPoint Community Church. He graduated from Allen East High
School in Lafayette, Ohio and attended Ohio State University. He went on to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa graduating in 1981 with a Doctor of Chiropractic. He
owned McCleary Chiropractic Clinic in Princeton where he provided compassionate care for 20 years. He was a member of
the Indiana State Chiropractic Association and served on the Princeton
Salvation Army Board for years. He was an avid golfer, Ohio State Buckeye fan,
and coached Youth Basketball and Baseball in Evansville.
John is survived by his wife
of 28 years, Nancy (Christensen) McCleary;
sons, Grant and John McCleary of Evansville;
mother, Mary McCleary: brother, Ron McCleary (Della), all of Fort Wayne, IN, nieces Heather
Spencer (Alec), Sandi Bryan (John), and nephew, Brad McCleary
(Megan).
He is preceded in death by
his father, Glenn McCleary and sister, Barbara McCleary.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 and continuing from 9-10 a.m. Saturday until service time at Ziemer
Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710.
Funeral Services will be Saturday March 2,
2013 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Josh Sinclair
officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park at a later date.
His family would like to
thank all of their friends, supporters and coworkers as well as Dr. Lawrence Judy,
Dr. Mark Cobb, and Dr. Anthony Stephens and his staff at OHA. We have
experienced an abundance of endless blessings and we know John’s new life with
the Lord will be filled with blessings beyond measure.
