Herbert "Bud" Howe,
88, of Princeton passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.
He was born on February 6, 1924 in Princeton, IN to Merritt and Hattie (Robinson) Howe, both deceased.
He lived his entire lifetime
in Princeton and graduated from Princeton High
School in
1943. He was the co-captain of the football team and played 4 years of
basketball. He retired after 30 years from the Indiana State Highway Department
as an engineer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton, F&AM Lodge #386 of Lynnville, Tri-State Beagle
Club, Southern Indiana Beagle Club, American Legion Post #25 and the Scottish
Rite of Evansville. He was also a life member of the D.A.V. and the VFW Post
#1147
He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 67 years, Betty
(Carson) Howe; daughter, Shelia (Bob) Dawson of Brownsburg, IN; 2
grandchildren, Angela Tokarek and Kristina Poe; 5
great grandchildren, Tim and Jon Poe and Travis, Trevor and Annie Tokarek; sister, Vera Archer of Indianapolis, IN; niece,
Sue Ellen Archer Driver; nephews, Richard (Marlene) Fitch, Gary (Lorie) Jines and R.J. (Joy) Jines; and
his good buddy, Tim Nonte.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM
on Sunday,
February 10, 2013 at Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton, officiated by Rev. Lisa Schubert Nowling.
Burial will be at the Archer Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation will be from 4
until 8 PM on Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. There will be a Masonic Service at 7 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. Military graveside
services will be conducted by retired military veterans.
