Shirley A. Eads, 79, of Princeton passed away on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.
She was born April 8, 1933 in Princeton to Oscar and Ella (Dills) Rudisel.
She graduated from Oakland City High
School and
Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing.
Shirley married Jimmie M Eads
on April
15, 1956.
She was an RN and held
various nursing positions at Gibson General Hospital from 1955 thru 1990. She also worked at Dr. R.S.
McElroy’s office. She was the director of nursing at Holiday Manor Nursing Home
and then finished her career at Deaconess Hospital. She was a member of Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton. She was a member of the D.A.R., Eastern Star and
Tri-Kappa. She was a talented artist and also enjoyed quilting, sewing
and traveling. Shirley enjoyed her family, friends, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons,
Michael (Laura) Eads of Patoka and Kenneth (Joscelyn)
Eads of Ellicott City, MD; four grandchildren, Cory Eads, Leah Wickert, Jessica Shaw and James Sheehan; two great
grandchildren, Kimberly and Kendrick; and a sister, Phyllis (Henry) Pohl of
Princeton.
She was preceded in death by
her parents; husband, Jimmie M. Eads in 2009; and a sister, Norma Blackburn.
Funeral Services will be held
at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at Hillside United Methodist Church in Princeton, with Kaitlin Moore
officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mt. Olympus.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Friday at the Hillside Church. Colvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
