Leo Henry Kissel, 89, passed away on January 13, 2013, at St Mary’s Hospital in Evansville IN.

Leo was born to the late Matthew and Catherine (Schwartz) Kissel on July 18, 1923 in Gibson County, IN.

He is also preceded in death by a grandson, Derek Deer in 2005, and 4 brothers, 2 sisters.

Leo was a self employed home builder, and a member of St James Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN.

Leo is survived by his wife of 65 yrs, whom he married on October 21, 1947, Florence (Elpers) Kissel of Haubstadt IN, 5 children, Mildred (John) Vollman of Evansville, IN, Ken (Marlene) Kissel of St Wendel, IN, Marilyn (Jim) Kern of Haubstadt, IN, Martha (Dan) Deer of Haubstadt, IN and Mary (Steve) Hisch of Haubstadt, IN. grandchildren Matthew Vollman, Julie Newton, Jeff, Gregg and  Brent Kissel, Ethan,  Johnna and  Eli Kern, Philip, Tyler and Justin Deer, Jamie Luhring, Cassaundra Carter and Christopher Hisch, and 16 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Leo will be Wednesday January 16, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on Hwy 168 West in Fort Branch, IN, and again from 9:00 am until 10:30 am Thursday morning at the funeral  home.

 A Mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 11:00 am at St James Catholic Church with Father Brian Emmick officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
