David L. “Bear” Gaston, 69, of Inverness, Fla. passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.

 

He was born on June 26, 1943 in Princeton to the late Dale F. and Edna (McCord) Gaston. 

 

David was Executive Director of Spectrum Industries in Terre Haute, Indiana and arrived in this area four years ago, wintering between here and Brookville and was a long time resident of Princeton. 

 

He was a Baptist, and holds memberships with the Benevolent Order of Elks, Lodge #634 in Princeton, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #3992 in Inverness. David enjoyed watching football and other sports, traveling, listening to music, and spending time around a campfire with friends. 

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-five years, Mary E. Gaston. Survivors include two daughters, Kara (A.J.) Williams of Plainfield, Indiana, and Krista (Shaun) Plaskiewicz of Inverness; one sister, Karen King of Plano, Texas; three grandchildren, Connor Howard, Stone Plaskiewicz, and Lorelai Williams; several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends and extended family. 

 

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, January 26, 2012, 2 p.m., at the Elks Lodge in Princeton.

 

Private arrangements are under the care of Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness, Florida.
