Charles Eugene Field 71, passed away
Monday January 28, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center, in Evansville from complications related to lung disease.

 

He fought a hard battle till the end. He is no longer suffering and is in Heaven looking down over his family and friends. He is finally at peace and no longer struggles to breathe. 

Charlie was born in Haubstadt on December 25, 1941 to Gene and Dorothy (Greubel) Field. 

Charlie lived in Haubstadt his entire life. He attended Haubstadt High school. He retired from Whirlpool and Amax Coal Keensburg Wabash Mine. After retirement he worked for Koester Co.

Charlie was a lifetime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt. He was an active member of the UMWA, Local- 1791. Served 4 years in United States Berlin Crisis, Member of American Legion Post 194 and served on the Burial Team. He was a member of Haubstadt Chamber of Commerce, and co-chairman of the Haubstadt Sommerfest for 9 years. He served many years on the Johnson Township Advisory Board and also the Haubstadt High School Gym Board.

Charlie considered his grandkids the light of his life. He attended many of their events and treasured all the time he shared with them. He had many hobbies including watching NASCAR, golf cart rides, singing the Schnitzelbank and attending Mardi Gras events over the past 19 years.
Charlie will be sadly missed my many in the community. Many will remember his sweet smile and his love for life. He valued many friendships but especially the one he had with Tom and Janet Dewig.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 33years, Brenda (Hargrave) Field. 2 daughters: Angie Field, Beth (John) Angle of Haubstadt and two sons: Denny Field and Jerome Buttery, both of
Evansville. Six grandchildren: Kyle and Megan Angle, Lindsey and Chloe Field of Haubstadt, Thomas and Sidney Field of Lexington, Ky.
Siblings: Sandra Sue Schmitt, Jack (Sara) Field of Haubstadt, Marcia (Ron) Giesege of Defiance, OH, and Mark (Judy) Field of Madison, In. 2 brothers-in- laws. Ron (Gayla) Hargrave of
Carmi, IL, Don (Marcia) Hargrave of Newburgh. 

Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 PM Thursday, January 31 at Wade Funeral Home, 119 S. Vine St. in Haubstadt, IN.

Visitation will continue from 10:30 AM until Mass time Friday at the church. The Rosary will be recited at 11:00 AM.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 11:30 AM Friday, February 1 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt with the Rosary being recited at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.
