James R. ‘Jim’ Cremeans, 71, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

 

He was born Aug. 17, 1941 in Huntington W.V. 

 

He had lived in Princeton since 1998 moving here from Hazleton where he had lived for 20 years. He was a retired coal miner after working for 40 years, retiring in 2009 last working for Five Star Mines.  He had also worked at several other mines in the area.

 

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Princeton where he served as an Elder. He was a member of the Petersburg Masonic Lodge, and the Hadi Shrine in Evansville

 

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Brenda, son, James Alan Cremeans (Cindy) of Cambeltown; daughter, Tamara Dawn Roberts of Dunn NC; his beloved pet Fancy, six grandchildren, Ashton and Auston White, Cody Roberts, Brittney Cremeans, Sheldon Kempf, and Shania Cremeans, two great grandchildren, Astrid Herrera and Kaylee Carnahan, two brothers, Howard Adkins Jr, of Petersburg and Randy Adkins of Bicknell, three sisters, Karen Swan of Alabama; Jacqueline “Jackie” Furman of Hazleton; Kathy Adkins of Alabama.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Retta Adkins Sr. and brother Bruce Adkins.

 

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 at the Colvin Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Stilwell and Pastor Jon O’Keefe officiating.  Burial will follow in the Columbia “White” Church Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
