Robert Allen Buck, 83, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at his home.

 

Robert was born in Buckskin on Feb. 11, 1929 to the late Gilbert and Wilma (Sunderman) Buck.

 

He was a United States Army and Army Reserve Veteran and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Robert retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 37 years of service. He returned to work part-time working for Hertz Rent-A-Car near the Evansville airport. He was an active member, past president and board member of St. John’s Church in Buckskin. Robert  also proudly served as a Mason for over 50 years  at the Oakland City Masonic Lodge #467 F&AM.  Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and watching sports.

 

Robert is survived by his: daughters, Jeana Buck and Joan (Tim) Dyson both of Evansville; sons, Jeffrey (Kim) Buck of Greenwood and Jonathan (Tonya) Buck of Evansville; sister, Ruth Evelyn Hart of House Springs, Mo., brothers, Edgar Lee Buck of Buckskin, IN and Donald Buck of Evansville, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. 

 

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Bonna Jean Buck in 2009 and daughter, Sherri Lynn Buck.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at St. John’s Church of Buckskin, 323 RR2 Buckskin with Pastor Jason Ford officiating.  Burial will be held at the church cemetery. 

 

Friends may visit from 2 until 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue Evansville 47711. Friends may also visit at St. John’s Church from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
