Harold R. Meyer, age 86 passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 at his home surrounded by friends and family. 

 

He was born September 6, 1926 in Haubstadt to George and Rosa (Mayer) Meyer. 

 

Harold worked at Hessmer’s, The Log Inn and retired from Bristol-Myers.  

He was a lifetime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and an Honorary Life member of K of C #2215.  Harold was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post #194 and V.F.W. Post #2714.  He was an avid
Indiana University basketball fan and St. Louis Cardinal fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Albertus, Arthur, Paul, Leo and Joseph.  2 sisters, Frieda and Anna Louise Meyer.  1 granddaughter, Joy Proper.

Harold is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elvera (Kiesel) Meyer.  Daughters; Janice (Rick) Proper of
Evansville, WY and Judy (Danny) Simon of Haubstadt.  Sons; Keith Meyer of Haubstadt and Steven Meyer of Princeton.  7 grandchildren:  Bruce, Corey and Eric Simon; Amber Seibert, Katie Proper, Jessika Robertson and Evan Meyer.  7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  2 sisters, Margaret Wolfe of Princeton and Rosalee Erny of Jasper.  1 brother, Richard Meyer of Haubstadt.

A Mass of Christian burial will be
11:00 AM Tuesday, December 18 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Ernst as celebrant.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites. 

 

Friends may call from 2 to 8 PM Monday at Wade Funeral Home with a Rosary service at 5: PM.  Friends may also call from 10 AM until Mass time Tuesday at the church.
