David "Dave" M. Stormont age 67 of Lafayette, passed away at 6:25 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012, at his home surround by family.

Born December 3, 1944 in Lafayette, IN.

He was the son of the late Robert D. Stormont and Edith (Heninger) Stormont.

Dave graduated at Lafayette Jefferson High School where he played Baseball, Basketball and Football. He also attended Purdue University. He was a self employed Cement Finisher for 50 years. Dave married Teresa Carder Alting December 28, 1992 in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

He was a past member of the Plaster and Cement Masons Union, an active SAL Squadron member American Legion Post#11. Dave was a sports enthusiast. He was an avid golfer, he loved the Chicago Cubs and divided his football loyalty between the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears.  He also bowled for many years in numerous leagues with family and friends. 

He is survived by his wife and mother, three daughters Jamie Stormont-Smith (husband Marvin Smith, III) of Lafayette, Melissa Stormont (husband David Geneux) of Columbia, MO and Tricia Stormont (husband Todd Jacobs) Stormont of Austin, TX a step daughter Jackie Alting Morehouse of Lafayette, Two step sons Frank E. Alting IV of Indianapolis and Troy A. Alting of Lafayette. Also surviving are a brother Robert (Jane) Stormont of Burr Ridge, IL and 12 grandchildren .

Memorial visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Thursday officiated by Chaplain Dwight Herin.
