Virgil O. McCord, 90, formerly of Oakland City now living in Canton, Ga. passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

He was born on Feb. 18, 1922 in Littles to Freddie and Elizabeth (Barrett) McCord.

He was retired from Whirlpool Corporation in Evansville.

He was preceded in death by his wife Luella McCord.

He is survived by a son: Gary (Teresa) McCord of Canton, Ga.; brother Gola McCord of Washington; a sister Clova Dobbins of Washington; and two grandchildren, six great grand children.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with burial in Montgomery Cemetery. Bro: Dane Gray will be officiating. 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until services.
