Bernice L. Rainey ( Aunt “B”), age 92, of Princeton, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 at the River Oaks Health Center in Princeton.

 

She was born in Princeton on Feb. 16, 1920 to Charles and Glee (Hanley) Cunningham, both of whom precede

 

She was married to James Alva Rainey whom preceded in 1979.

 

Throughout her life she was involved in numerous organizations which include her being a life member of the American Legion post #25 Ladies Auxiliary, The Red Hat Society, and a member of the Rebekah’s Nobel Grand Princeton Lodge # 40. She was also a past President of the Gibson County Rebekah’s and Past President of the Rebekah’s Ladies Auxiliary state association as well as the Indiana State President of Rebekah’s Militant Branch and was called upon twice to lay the wreath on the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier on Memorial day. She was the Past Worthy Matron of The Eastern Star as well as the Grand Matriarch. She was also the Worthy High Priestess of the White Shrine of Mt. Carmel, Ill. and a member of Amerantz. She was also a member of the Columbia General Baptist Church and The Broadway Christian Church.  She worked on the line at Hanson manufacturing for 42 years.

 

Survivors include a sister; Dorothy Mans of Newburgh.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother; Charles Cunningham and sister, Doris Moade.

 

Funeral service will be on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Doyle Funeral Home located at 520 S. Main St. Princeton, IN 47670 with internment to take place in Columbia White Church Cemetery of Princeton, IN.

 

Visitation will be on Saturday Nov. 3, 2012 from noon until time of service at 2 p.m.
