OAKLAND CITY—Hazel Tooley, 65, of Oakland City, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 at her home in Oakland City.

 

She was born Feb. 21, 1947 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to Marlin and Hazel (Ross) Meier.

 

She retired from Heartland Health Center. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Oakland City and was very active in the Women’s Missions at the church.  She played the piano at Good Samaritan Nursing Home and the Walnut Grove Church.

 

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Amon Tooley of Oakland City; mother, Hazel Meier of Princeton; daughters, Melody Tooley and Melinda (David) Sams both of Oakland City; grandchildren, Lukas and Owen Sams; brother, David Meier of Evansville; and two sisters, Marlene Bassett and Marlane Bryant both of Princeton.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, Marlin Meier.

 

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2012 at First General Baptist Church at 224 W. Harrison St., Oakland City IN, 47660, with Pastor Larry Johnson officiating. Corn-Colvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
