Harold V. Mossberger, Jr. age 85, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

 

Harold was born Nov. 24, 1926 in Evansville to the late Harold V., Sr. and Bertha (Hunter) Mossberger.

 

He resided most of his life in Haubstadt.  Harold retired from Whirlpool Corp. after 39 years.

 

He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, an Honorary Life member of Knights of Columbus Council #2215. Harold was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II.  He was a member of American Legion Post #194 and V.F.W. Post #1114 in Evansville.

 

Also preceding him in death was one daughter, Peggy Weimer in February 2012; also two sisters and one brother.

 

Harold is survived by his wife 58 years, Maralee (Lutz) Mossberger; three daughters; Terri (Chris) Fuhs of Fort Branch, Sandy (Mark) Fierst of Jasper and Kim (Kenny) Gonzales of Princeton. One son, Tom (Suzie) Mossberger of Owensville. One son-in-law, Dale Weimer of Evansville. 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One brother, Wayne Mossberger of Evansville.  Several nieces and nephews. 

 

A Mass of Christian of burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Fr. Tony Ernst will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wade Funeral Home with a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Friends may also call from 10 a.m. until Mass time Wednesday at the church.
