LOIS J. BRINK, 84 passed away Sunday Sept 2, 20012 at the Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.

 

She was born September 23, 1927 in Keokuk, Iowa to Carl and Freda (Melin) McClure.

 

She retired in 1995 from Lincoln Trail College in Robinson IL, where she was Dean of Nursing. 

She was a graduate of
Keokuk High School, Iowa Wesleyan College and University of Evansville where received her masters degree in nursing. She taught nursing at University of Evansville, Olney Central College and then at Lincoln Trail College. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as elder, deacon and on the stewardship committee. She was a member of the Tourist Club, Tri Kappa, P.E.O., Gibson County Medical Alliance, Auxiliary of the American Osteopathic Association and Indiana Osteopathic Association, where she was a recipient of the Frances Jules Warner Award, the highest honor given to a member of the auxiliary. She was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and Pi Beta Phi Sorority at Iowa Wesleyan and a hospice volunteer. 

She is survived by her loving husband Bruce C. Brink Sr. of Patoka; 4 children, Bruce C. Brink Jr. (Becky) of Princeton; Carol Young (Harry) of Hatfield, IN; Sue Lemmon (Richard) of Corydon, IN; Jane Ann Rogers (Tony) Patoka; 9 grandchildren, Jaleigh, Parker, Raleigh, Katherine, Kristine, Freda, Zachary, A.J. and Leslie, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Mary Jo Stafford. 

Funeral services will be
11 a.m. Friday Sept. 7, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church 204 S. Hart St. Princeton, with Rev. Gene Gladney officiating.

 

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton and Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
