LaVerne E. “Casey” Payton, 87, of Oakland City passed away on Monday Aug. 20, 2012 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City.

She was born on June 22, 1925 in Evansville to Roy & Ann (Seiler) Kirves.

She was preceded in death by first husband L. Ray Casey and second Clifford Casey (Payton). Sisters: Avalon Melton and Carolyn S. Sellers and Brother Bobby Joe Allen. 

Surviving family members: Daughters: Connie Casey of Oakland City, Sherry (Gary) Grant of Ft. Worth, Texas; son: Ray (Vickey) Casey of Mt. Vernon; sisters: Phyllis Allen of Evansville, Ruth Boughton of Opa-Locka, Fla. Mary Torline of Boonville; brothers: Jerry Allen of Bloomfield. and Fred Allen of Huntingburg. Six Grandchildren four Great Grandchildren two Great Great-Grandchildren

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday Aug. 25, 2012 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with burial in Montgomery Cemetery. Rev. Barry Kirves will be officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until services on Saturday.
