Delores Young, age 77, and a resident of Columbia, Tenn. passed away Tuesday morning, July 24, 2012 at Life Care Center in Columbia.

 

Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Grace Church of the Nazarene in Columbia with Pastor Mark Lindstrom officiating.

 

The family will also visit with friends from 11 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family and in charge of the arrangements.

 

Delores was born on May 16, 1935 to the late Porter Sharp and the late Rhoda Margarette Wilcox Sharp in East Chicago, Indiana.

 

She was a very unique lady who had many interests in life. She enjoyed watching cooking shows on television and thoroughly loved to help others. She was a family woman who loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Because of her immense love for the Lord, she was always involved in church work and looked forward to each time she could go to church. We know that today she is walking with the Lord and enjoying His sweet presence.  All who knew her will truly miss her loving ways and her unique personality.  

 

She is survived by her son Eric (Regina) Cunningham of Clarksville, Tenn; sister-in-law Bernice Rainey of Princeton; four grandchildren: Eric Joe Cunningham of Princeton, Jodi Neighbors of Princeton, Eric John Cunningham of Clarksville, Tenn., Jacklin Cunningham of Clarksville, Tenn.; four great-grandchildren: Kalijah Harris, E’Vontaye McIntyre, E’Javione Cunningham, and Sta’Vesha Cunningham all of Princeton.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-mother Eula Octavia Sharp; son Hal Cunningham; sister Alma Swartz; and ex-husband Charles Cunningham, Jr.
