Mary Elizabeth Straight, age 76, of Fort Branch went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at her residence.

Mary was born December 25, 1935 in Ellery, Ill. to George Henry and Mabel (Holt) Smerdon.

She was a homemaker and also worked as an insurance billing clerk with Dr. Patel and Dr. Murthy.

On August 21, 1952, in Ellery, Ill. she was married to John Straight who survives.

She was an area resident for 32 years and a member of the Bethel Memorial Church of Princeton.

She is survived by husband, John Straight of Ft. Branch and sons, Russell Straight of Wadesville. and Marvin Straight of Henderson, Ky. Other survivors include daughters, Karen (Don) Marshall of Ft. Branch; Lesa (Paul) Kerney also of Ft. Branch, and Brenda (Kip) Huston of Ft. Branch; 14 grandchildren, Stanley, Rodney & Shawn Straight, Angela Welker, Bruce Marshall, Brooke Mitchell, Kyle Marshall, Leann & Laresa Kerney, Samantha Begeman & Amanda Straight, and 14 great grandchildren, Hannah, Ian& Lucas Straight, Lila Straight, Andrew Denney, Dustin & Anna Marie Welker, Sierra & Cheyenne Straight, Bryce & Catalyn Mitchell & Jaran David Kerney.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Hazel Roosevelt and one grandchild, John David Straight, two great grandchildren, Rodney Straight Jr. & Austin Mitchell.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Bethel Memorial Church located at 1520 S. Main St. in Princeton, IN 47670 with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Albion, Ill.

Visitation will be on Tuesday July 31, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday August 1, 2012 from 9 a.m. until time of service at Bethel Memorial Church in Princeton.
