Geneva Leota Skinner, 98, of Oakland City, passed away on Sunday July 8, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Petersburg.

 

She was born on March 23, 1914 in Winslow to Santford Sr. and Ellen (Broshears) Singleton.

 

Leota was preceded in death by husband Floyd Skinner, brothers; Wib and Ora Singleton, sisters Ethel Kemp and Lucille O’Brien.

 

Surviving sons: Bruce Jack Skinner who lived and cared for his mother of Oakland City and Donald (Alice)Skinner of Vincennes.

 

She is also survived by two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; brothers: Santford Jr. (Rose) Singleton of Louisville, Ky., Bob Singleton (Bobbie) Singleton of Kingwood, Texas; also several nieces and nephews.

 

Services will be Wednesday July 11, 2012 at 9 a.m. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with burial in Spurgeon Cemetery. Rev. Marc Grimes will be officiating.

 

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until service on Wednesday.
