Eugene F. Carter, 99, formerly of Oakland City, died Sunday at 3:24 a.m. at Professional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Dale.

He was born March 23, 1913 in Gibson County to Atlee and Clara (Gregory) Carter. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Carter in 1995, and sister Elwanda Burnell in 2004.

He was a retired farmer, logger and operated a saw mill in Gibson County.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews

Graveside services will be Saturday July 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Somerville Cemetery, Rev.  Matt Malin officiating.

Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
