Virginia Lorraine Selfe 90, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 19,2012, at Oakview Heights Continuous Care and Rehab Center in Mt. Carmel, Ill., with family at her side.

She was born on Feb. 10, 1922, in Owensville, Ind., to Mary Ann (Hatfield) and Charles Riley.

After graduating from Owensville High School, Lorraine attended Indiana Beauty College in Indianapolis and then began working at the Marinella Shop on Broadway in Princeton.

After Chester "Jack" Selfe returned from serving in the Army Air Corp in WWII, they married in Owensville on Feb. 3, 1946. He preceded her in death in 2010.

Lorraine had a beauty shop in her home for most of the years her children were young. In later years she owned the Princeton Craft Shop, enjoying combining her hobby and work. She was an active member of First General Baptist Church of Princeton for most of her adult life. She sang in the choir, served on the board of the nursery school, worked in various areas of Bible School, and loved her Searchlight S.S.Class. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. They loved "working" at the craft shop, going to Holiday World, and taking short camping trips.

Lorraine is survived by daughters Susan (Greg) Goodson of Mt. Carmel and Jane Easley of Princeton and a son Ed Selfe of Greencastle, Ind.; grandchildren Angi (Jim) Woll of O'Fallon, Il., Courtney (Drew) Martin of Cincinnati, Ohio, Branson Easley and Katie (Justin) Beadles of Princeton; great-grandchildren Spencer and Cameron Woll, Donavon, Matthew, Draven, and Marius Easley, and Zachary Beadles.
