Charles Paul Douglas, 80,
passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at his home.
He was born in Gibson County, December 11, 1931, the son of William Paul and Ruth (Woods) Douglas.
Charlie Paul was a retired Evansville firefighter of 37 years. Some of
his duties just to name a few included chief mechanic and member of the rescue
squad/ambulance crew. He was also a farmer in the Tennyson area since
1974, and dearly loved raising all kinds of animals. One of his many past times
was attending auctions and yard sales. Charlie Paul was well known and respected
by many.
Survivors include his wife,
Carol Jean (Tennyson) Douglas; children, Charles Michael (Kathy) Douglas,
Daniel (Carole) Douglas and Rebecca (Brent) Buxton; stepsons, Wayne Forston and Gary (Sandra) Forston;
seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and
seven step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; and his only sibling, his sister, Ann Waters who passed away just
four days before him.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville, with
Pastor Michael Douglas officiating. Burial will be in the Blythe Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home.
