Reverend Donn Lee Walters died on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at the age of 65.

 

He is survived by his wife, Amelia; his children, Brad Walters, Sarah Gardner, Ben Walters and Elaine Lund; his parents, Rev. Ralph and Alice Walters; his brothers, Dr. David Walters (Anita) of Princeton and Gerald Walters of Moberly, Mo.

 

Born in Wisconsin, Rev. Walters graduated from Princeton Community High School in 1964, and from the University of Evansville in 1968. He simultaneously earned a Master of Divinity degree from McCormick Seminary and a Master in Social Work degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Jane Adams School of Social Work in 1972.  Rev. Walters was ordained as a Presbyterian minister in Little Rock in 1975. 

 

He served as the Executive Director of Presbyterian Urban Council for 24 years and as the Executive Director of the Vera Lloyd Presbyterian Home for seven years.  Since 2002, he worked as the Clinical Director, Admissions Director and Director of Therapeutic Foster Care at Methodist Children’s Home.
