Franklin (Frank) McIntyre, 71, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 15, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family.

 

He was born May 10, 1940 in Fort Branch, the son of Herschel and Mary (Braden) McIntyre.

 

Frank worked as a meat cutter for over 30 years at Joe’s Red and White, and later retired from Ameriqual Foods. He served on the Owensville Montgomery Township Fire District and at one time held the position of chief of the department. He also enjoyed pitching horseshoes. After retiring, Frank took great pride in maintaining the ball fields for the Owensville summer ball program. He never considered this a job, but more as a hobby.

 

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Dottie (Thomas) McIntyre; daughters, Marlene (Eric) Jones, Tina Fetcher, Karen (Jay) Reed, Jamie McIntyre and Melissa McIntyre; son, Jeffery McIntyre; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Leland (Shirley) McIntire; sister, Pat (Gary) Smith.

 

Frank was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville, with Bart Newton officiating. Burial will be in the Durham Cemetery in Fort Branch.

 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and noon until the service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
