Frances R. (Deal) Brown, 92, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Gibson General Hospital.

She was born May 14, 1919, in Crawford County, Ind., the oldest daughter of George and Maggie (Hammond) Deal, of Johnson, Ind.

On December 3, 1937, she married Ronald R. Brown. They were married 63 years before Ronald's death in 2001. They had five children together.

Frances was a homemaker and co-partner in her and Ronald's melon farming operation until their retirement. Frances was a great cook and all were welcomed at her table. She was very proud to call Maumee General Baptist Church her church home where she was a member since age 14.

Survivors include her children, Darwin (Joanie) Brown, of Yorkville, IL, Brenda (Dave) Dike, JoAnn (Allen) Creek and Ronda (Bruce) Matsel, all of Owensville. She also was blessed with 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She also had several nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Eugene Ray Brown, in 1940; brothers, Abner, George (Shorty) and Clarence Deal; sisters, Martha Ripple and Mary Pauline Byrns.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12 at Holders Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the Maumee Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
