Lillian “Tootie” Stewart, 86 of Jasper, died at 2:03 p.m. Saturday (March 24, 2012) in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.

 

She was born Aug. 3, 1925 at Ayrshire to Alonzo and Betty (Chesser)  McClure.  

 

She married Albert Stewart Oct. 23 1954. He preceded her in death March 24, 1998.

 

She was a homemaker, cook and worked as a sales clerk at the former J.J. Newberry Company. She also retired from Jemco.She attended the Jasper Church of the Nazarene.

 

Surviving are six nieces, one nephew and two cousins.

 

Preceding her in death besides her husband is one daughter, Betina Stewart Bennett; sisters, Liz Tooley and Joretta Crow and a brother, Bob McClure.

 

Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, with burial to follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Jasper. Rev. Darrell Wineinger will officiate.
