Dorothy E. (Mattingly) Singer, 94, of Evansville, passed away Monday, February 27, 2012, at Columbia Heathcare Center.


She worked at Chrysler during World War II and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother, enjoying the time spent with her family.


She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence (Rudd) Greene; second husband, Harry A. Singer; sisters, Ethel Francis, Rachel Lynn, Mary Nuyen and Catherine Bryant; brothers, Urban and Osburn Mattingly.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Janice Greene, of Evansville, Ind.; son Mike Greene and wife, Connie, of Surprise, Ariz.; grandchildren, Chris Greene and wife, Sandra, Kevin Greene and wife, Patty and Brandon Greene; great-grandchildren, Briella and Rylan Greene; sisters, Agnes Byrd and Joan Gray; nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN 47714, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd., Evansville, IN 47714.

A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at the church, with Fr. Alex Zenthoefer officiating.

Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul cemetery in Haubstadt, Ind.
