Billy Gene Wright age 80, of Princeton, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton.
He was born July 28, 1931 in Lawrence County, IL. To Harold and Margaret (Seed) Wright whom precede.
On May 31, 2007 in Henderson, KY, he was married to Elizabeth Crites who survives.
He served as a Corporal in
the U.S. Army from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1957. He was a
conductor with the Southern Railroad until retiring in 1992. He was also the
former owner of Wright's Cabinet Shop in Oakland City, IN. He was a 1950 Golden Gloves
Boxing champion and the former Worshipful Grand Master at the Masonic Lodge
#467 of Oakland City, IN. He was also an active member of the "Road Earles" car club as well as a Motorcycle enthusiast
and was a member of the Bethel Memorial Church of Princeton, IN.
Survivors include his wife,
Elizabeth of Princeton and daughter, Shelley (Robert) Christmas also of Princeton, IN. Other survivors include his sister, Katherine (Wayne) Thompson of Wadesville, IN, and grandson Andy Orem
of Princeton, IN, also numerous nieces and a nephew.
He is preceded in death by
his parents, daughter, Allison Kay Wright and his sister Joanne Vinson.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January
10, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Bethel Memorial Church located at 1520 S. Main St. Princeton, IN with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. Interment will
be in Forsythe Cemetery in Oakland City, IN with military honors provided by the V.F.W. Post
#1147 Funeral Detail.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 9,
2012 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M, with Masonic services at 7:00 P.M. at Doyle Funeral Home located at 520 S. Main St., Princeton, IN, and from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 10:00 A.M. at Bethel Memorial Church.
