Anna Carol Miller, 72, of Oakland City, entered rest Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012 at 2:20 p.m. at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City.

 

She was born Jan. 15, 1940 in Francisco, to Russell Howard and Mabel (McKinney) Beasley, now deceased.

 

She graduated in 1961 from Oakland City College with a bachelor of science degree and from Indiana State University in 1972 with a master's degree in education.

 

Carol started her teaching career at Indianapolis, then Oaktown and Poseyville before returning to East Gibson School Corp. She spent her last 32 years teaching at Francisco Elementary School, to finish a 37-year career in teaching.

 

She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, and life member of National Education Association, Indiana Retired Teachers Association and Oakland City University Alumni Association. She was also a member of Forsythe United Methodist Church.

 

Surviving are her husband of 29 years, William "Bill" Miller of Oakland City; son, Stacey Lynch of Newburgh; step-daughter, Sheryl Crum of Marianna, Fla.; brother, Howard "Duane" Beasley of Francisco; grandsons Matthew and Scott Crum; and two great grandchildren

 

Funeral services will be at 10 am. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, with burial in Forsythe Cemetery. Rev.Tom Deen will be officiating.

 

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the chapel and from 8 a.m. until the hour of service.
