Velma J. Kuester,
94, of Fort Branch, IN, passed away on Jan. 5, 2012 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, IN.
She was born on Mar. 12, 1917 in Gibson Co. IN to the late Luther and Bertha
(Ramsey) Clem.
Velma graduated from Patoka High School in Patoka,
IN, and was a member of the St. Lucas United Church of
Christ in Fort
Branch, IN. She was also a member of the Fort Branch Order of
Eastern Star.
Besides her parents, she is
also preceded in death by her husband, Raymand J. Kuester; and her daughter, Judy Gordon, who passed away in
2010; a sister, Zelpha Deal; and a brother Carl Clem.
Velma is survived by 2 grand
daughters, Michele (Todd) Denny of New Albany, IN, and Heather (Rich) Comer of
Georgetown, IN, 2 great grandchildren, Lauren and Brooke Comer, and a son
in-law, Paul Gordon of Fort
Branch, IN.
Services for Velma will be on
Tuesday,
Jan. 10, 2012 at the St.
Lucas United Church of Christ in Fort Branch, IN, at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor John Heumann officiating. Burial
will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday Jan. 9,
2012 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Stodghill Funeral Home located on
Hwy. 168 west in Fort
Branch, IN, and again from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church on Tuesday.
