Calvin L. Davis, 88 of Princeton passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility
in Princeton.
He was born May 8, 1923 to Otto Lee and Lucy B. (Winget)
Davis.
Calvin lived in Princeton all of his life. On Dec. 14, 1943 he married Spicy Duncan.
He was an electrician for
R.J. Refinery, worked for Whirlpool, and last worked for more than 10 years for
Hansen Corp.
He attended Bethel Memorial Church in Princeton and enjoyed working in his garden, watching baseball
and football.
He is survived by his wife of
68 years, Spicy Davis of Princeton; five children, Vaden
L. (Judy) Davis of Princeton, Linda (George) Ballard of Princeton, Jim Davis of
Princeton, Brenda (Steve) Kohlmeyer
of Francisco and Duncan Davis of Princeton; half-brother, Bobby Joe Grubb of Princeton; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by
his parents; brothers, Melvin and Charles “Boots” Davis; sister
Mary Ellen Bowen; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Riley, on Nov. 13, 2011.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Clark Cemetery near Owensville.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at Colvin Funeral
Home.
