Rosemary Welsh, 87, Princeton, died at 3:10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011.

 

She was born Aug. 14, 1924, in Dugger, the daughter of Glean and Alta (Comstock) Borders.

 

Rosemary graduated in 1942 from Union High School in Dugger.  Rosemary worked at Crane Navy Depot during WW II, and she worked at the 1948 GOP National Convention in Chicago, Ill. Later, she was a bookkeeper at Ohms Electric in Dugger, where she met her husband, George Welsh. They were married in Vincennes May 22, 1948, where she resided for the next 52 years. She then became bookkeeper for Vincennes Electric Motor, of which her husband was co-founder.

 

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Vincennes. Through the years, she was a volunteer for the March of Dimes, Cub Scouts and Parent Teacher Association..

 

Rosemary is survived by her sister Ruth (Jack) Bledsoe of Linton; daughter, Debra (David) Deschamp of Oakland City; son, Bill (Patty) Welsh of Bowling Green, Ky.; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, one sister and her parents.

 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St. with Rev. Maury Brenneman officiating.

 

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service time.
