Joan E. Sheridan, 81, of Princeton, Indiana passed away on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at her home.
She was born Jan. 7, 1930 in Princeton to Francis V. and Susan F. (Cannavan)
Sheridan, both now deceased.
She is also preceded in death
by a sister, Patricia Ann Sheridan; and a brother, Donald J. Sheridan.
Joan lived in Princeton until she moved to Indianapolis to work in the banking industry as a legal secretary for 27 years. She
retired in 1992 and moved back to Princeton. Joan was a active
member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton, where she was a member of the choir, the organist for several years,
the church cemetery board and the Josephine Bible Study. She was also a member of the Daughters of
Isabella and the Gibson General Hospital Auxiliary. Joan was a member of the Dick Dennis Corral
singing group and later sang with the Indianapolis Symphony for eight years.
She was also a member of the Franciscan Group and was honored for her work with
them.
She is survived by her
sister, Rita S. Sheridan of Indianapolis; brother, Charles (Faye) Sheridan of Haubstadt; sister-in-law, Carol
Sheridan of Evansville; 16 nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and
nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial
will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in
Princeton, Father Ronald Zgunda, celebrant. Burial
will be at St.
Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation will be from 4
until 8 p.m. on Sunday at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with a Rosary prayed at 7 p.m.
