Thomas T. "Tom" Hormuth, 78, formerly of Haubstadt, passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.

 

He was born Sept. 17, 1933, in Haubstadt, to Theodore and Loretta (Ziliak) Hormuth, now deceased.

 

He lived in Fort Branch the past 20 years, retiring from farming and Traylor Brothers Construction in Evansville.  He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

 

He was preceded in death, in 2008, by his wife, Phyllis.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Susie (Mike) Nowatkowski of West Point, N.Y., and Katy (Steve) Crenshaw of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sons, Thomas Hormuth Jr. (Tori) of Baltimore, Md., Chris Hormuth of New Albany, Michael (Pam) Hormuth of Evansville, Matt Hormuth of Fort Branch and Jerry (Natalie) Hormuth of Virginia Beach, Va.; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Mary Jo Gries of Haubstadt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

A Mass of Christian burial is at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Tony Ernst as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery in Haubstadt.

 

Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. until Mass time Friday at Holy Cross Church.
