Ella E. "Jean" Ruckman, 85 of Hazleton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

She was born Dec. 25, 1925 in Gibson County to Arthur and Viola (Yaden) Sherman, both now deceased. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Bud Sherman.

She is survived by her husband, David Ruckman of Hazleton; two daughters, Cindy (Alvin) Peach of Princeton and Sandy (Terry) Keehn of Patoka; six grandchildren, Michael (Roxanne) Peach, Chasity (Aaron) Morris, Shannon (Ben) Wilson, Josh White, Rachael (J.J.) Johnson and Nathan (Ally) Keehn; eight great grandchildren; brother, David Sherman of Owensville; sister, Dorothy (Alvin) Koberstein of Princeton; and special friends, Dan and Joy Peach.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka, with Rev. William Morris officiating. Burial will follow.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
