Dallas Lorraine (Peck) Skelton, 74, of Elberfeld, IN, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at her home.
Dallas was born May 19, 1937 to the late William U. and Laurena
Gerhardt Peck in Evansville.
She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and attended North Friendship
General Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern
Star and a former member of the Kiwanis Club, she held
offices in these organizations. Dallas also was a member of Daughters of the American
Revolution (DAR), Uhl Society, and Cat's Meow. Dallas graduated from Elberfeld High
School
where she attended all twelve years of schooling. She retired from the Elberfeld State Bank in 2002 after 41 years.
Dallas enjoyed traveling, camping, antiquing, volunteering,
and helping others until the freak accident in April 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 ½ years, Darrell Ray, on January
25, 1996; infant brother, Ronald Curtis Peck; sisters, Dorothy Lee Peck Thene and Chalotte E. Peck
Flowers.
Dallas is survived by her son, Curtis Ray and daughter-in-law, Janet (Meny) Skelton; granddaughter, Harlee
Marie Skelton; grandson, Shelby Lee Skelton; sister, Betty Jean Browning Reed;
brother-in-law, Terry G. Flowers; special cousin/sister, Patricia Arend; cousins; nieces; nephews; great nieces and nephews;
and a very special friend, Rosemary Parcell. The
family would like to thank all of the family, friends, and church members for
their unending help and support.
Services will be held at 10 AM
Saturday,
October 8, 2011 at Alexander
North Chapel, officiated by Rev. Johnny Hibbs with
burial at Providence Cemetery in Somerville, IN.
Friends may visit Friday from
3:00 to 8:00 PM
at the funeral home and on Saturday from 9:00 AM
until service time.
