Kevin C.  McKnight, 56, of Somerville, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 at home.

 

He was born July 3, 1955 in St. Charles, Mo. to Walter and Dorothy (Arnold) McKnight. 

 

He lived in Somerville since 2000. He was a welder and formerly a truck driver, which he did for many years.

 He was in the Army during the Vietnam era.  He was a member of the Oakland City American Legion and Oakland City Eagles Lodge. He was a tattoo artist for many years.  He also enjoyed music, playing the guitar and harmonica.  He enjoyed riding Harleys.

 

He is survived by his wife,  Debra McKnight of Somerville; daughter, Ann Davis of Denver, Colo,; sons, David Moore of Vincennes, Jeremiah Moore of Oakland City; six grandchildren, T’nia Richardson, Tony Salvino, Jen Favors, Malena, Aleah Moore, Braden Moore; one great granddaughter; five sisters, Margaret McKnight of Mystic, Conn., Mary Culbertson of Oakland City, Grace Luttrell of Patoka, Joyce McKnight of Evansville, JoAnn Clark of Clarksville, Tenn.; and a special brother, Kevin “Biscuit” Shambaugh of Columbus, Ind.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Tom McKnight.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Oakland City, with Father Ronald Zgunda as the celebrant.  Burial will be in Somerville Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by Oakland City American Legion Post 256.

 

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Saturday and from noon until 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at  Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City.
