Opha Hubbard Colbert, 100 went to
be with the Lord on Thursday, October
20, 2011.
Born in the community of Wheeling
Indiana, she was married to the late Edward
D. Colbert for sixty-three years.
A long time resident of Princeton,
Indiana, she was a charter member of the
congregation that is now known as Bethel
Memorial Church.
She was employed by the North Gibson School Corporation for over twenty years
in cafeteria/food service. She loved cooking, sewing and especially quilts.
She is survived by her three children; Jim Colbert (Mary) of Nashville,
Tennessee; Linda Colbert Garrett (Gene) of Birmingham,
Alabama; and John Colbert (Carol) of Kokomo,
Indiana. She was blessed with nine
grandchildren; David Colbert(Connie); Michael Colbert(Janice); James Colbert; Malinda Colbert-Mancuso (Michael); Jane Garrett-Mitchell
(Jack); Janis Colbert-Luke (Michael); John E. Colbert(Marcia); Diana
Colbert-Meador (Randy); Lori Mason; 21 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great
grandchildren; and her sister May Pearl Hubbard-Crawford of Evansville.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband; 3 brothers and 3 sisters,
including a twin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM
on Sunday, October 23, 2011
at Bethel Memorial
Church in Princeton,
Reverend Kevin Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Maple
Hill Cemetery
in Princeton.
Visitation will be from 5-8
PM on Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton
and from 1 PM until service time on
Sunday at the church.
