Franklin Eugene “Gene” Rigg, 87, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Gibson General Hospital skilled care facility.

 Gene was born March 20, 1924 in Wabash County, IL the son of Clifford and Ella (Alhefeld) Rigg.

 He was a graduated of Owensville High School class of 1942, member of the Vincennes 7th Day Adventist Church and retired from Chrysler after 31 plus years of service in the automotive industry. He served in the U.S. Army

 Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Mary (Lynch) Rigg;  a nephew, Timothy Turner;  a niece, Dicy Shepherd; great-niece, Sarah Turner; sister-in-law, Ruby Wolfe; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Isabel Turner, Louise Shepherd; and a brother, John Rigg.

 Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Owensville Cemetery with the Rev. Genevieve McGuire officiating.

Military rites will also be conducted by American Legion Post 51 and the VFW Post 1147.

 Visitation will be from noon until the service time on Wednesday at Holders Funeral home in Owensville.
