Karen R. Gidcumb Ridgley, age 54, of rural St. Francisville, Illinois passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. She was born December 06, 1956 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois the daughter of Fred Gidcumb and Mary Belle Case Gidcumb. She married David R. Ridgley on February 17, 1979 and he survives.

Karen worked as assistant manager at McKim's IGA in Lawrenceville, IL. for over 17 years. She attended the Oasis Assembley of God Church in Princeton, IN.

Survivors include her husband David, her father Fred Gidcumb of Mt.Carmel, IL., one son Patrick Ridgley and wife Elizabeth of High Ridge, Missouri, one daughter Lisa Ridgley and Fiance' Bobby Whittaker of rural Lawrenceville, IL., two brothers Michael Gidcumb and wife Alisa of Mt.Carmel, IL., Jim Gidcumb and wife Becky of Princeton, IN. and one sister Tammy Brown and husband Michael of Princeton, IN. Two grandchildren survive, Grace and Gwyn Ridgley. Two brothers-in-law survive: Tom Ridgley and Ray M. Ridgley along with a special neice Samantha Ridgley .Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Karen was preceded in death by her mother Mary Belle and one brother Stephen, mother and father in law: John R. and Margorie Ridgley.

Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon 2:00 p.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Allendale Cemetery.
