Betty Jo Herrin, 83, passed away Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.

She was born Aug. 6, 1928 in Princeton to Arthur and Cora Alice (Steele) Zimmerman. Betty retired from the treasurer's office in the Gibson County Courthouse after working there for 12 years. She lived in Princeton most of her life. She was a former member of the Eastern Star. She belonged to the Golden Girls Gang and for many years enjoyed their family cabin on the White River with her husband and family.

Betty is survived by her five children, Janice (Tim) Raibley, of Mt. Carmel, James Richard "Dick" Herrin, of Patoka, Susie (Danny "Boone") White, of Wheeling, Patricia "Jody" Herrin, of Francisco, Judy Ann Herrin, of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Thad Raibley, Andrea (Jonathan) Decker, Dusty and Casey Herrin, Cameron and Larry White, Clay Boyer; eight great-grandchildren: Brady Decker, Tyler, Jesse and Caleb Herrin, Tessa and Carter White, Gracie Boyer, Jax Graeble; sister-in-law and her husband, Sue and John McNeece, of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James "Cheesie" Herrin; grandson Spencer White; brother, Sammy Zimmerman; and sister Edith (Everett) Coomer.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 at the Columbia White Church Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Meadows officiating. Burial will follow the services.

Visitation will be noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton.
