Eric A. Callis, 52, passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 in Owensville.

He was born Jan. 17, 1959 in Oakland City, the son of Darwin E. and Peggy (Keneipp) Callis.

Eric was a member of the Owensville United Methodist Church, a graduate of Gibson Southern High School class of 1977 and was engaged in farming in Gibson County. He was a trustee of David B. Smith Cemetery and Montgomery Township Board of Trustees.

Survivors include his mother, Peggy; sister, Jean Ann (Alan) Pfisterer of Louisville, Ky.; niece, Kelsey Edwards; nephews, Nathan Edwards and Sam and Griffin Pfisterer all of Louisville, Ky.; aunts and uncles, Liz Ann Knox of Newburgh, Dick and Mary Keneipp of Owensville, Mary Jane and Don Bellessa of Mt. Carmel, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his father, Darwin E. Callis on April 29, 2011; his grandparents, Revis and Cletis Callis and Harry and Mary Keneipp; cousins, David and Byron Furr.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011 at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Pastor Robert Kloepping officiating. Burial will be in the David B. Smith Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
