Mary Ellen Dougan, 83, passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville

Born July 6, 1928, in Mt. Olympus, she was the daughter of Robert and Sylvia (Thompson) Hayden.

She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, St. Peter’s Womens Guild and the Cynthiana Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, William Ray Dougan of Madisonville, Ky.; three daughters, Cheryl (J.C.) Whitmore of Wadesville, Cindy (Rev. John) Motz of Wadesville, Patricia (Daniel) Blessinger of Culpeper, Va.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles William Dougan in 2005; and a son, Charles Allen Dougan.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 7014 Darmstadt Road, Evansville, with the Rev. Brian Buschkill officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s UCC church cemetery in Wadesville.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. with an Eastern Star memorial service at 7 p.m. at Werry Funeral Home, Poseyville Chapel and from 1 p.m. Tuesday until service time at the church.
