Darwin Randall Clem, 68, of Richwood, Ohio, passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 15, 1943 in Princeton to Warner and Rosemary (Lehman) Clem.
On Nov. 18, 1967, he married the former Rosemarie “Rosie” Wilson and
she passed away Nov. 30, 1983. He then married the former Sue (Cramer) Hinaman on April 20, 1986 and she survives in Richwood.
He was a member of the Pharisburg United Methodist Church and was a volunteer firefighter for Leesburg Township for 13 years. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a
member of Prince Lodge 231 F&AM in Princeton. Darwin received a master's degree from Purdue University in 1968. He began working in the agricultural
fertilizer industry after moving to the Richwood community in 1977.
He drove a truck for Scheiderer
Transport Co., hauling milk and later for Ford Distributing, hauling for
tractor dealerships. He and Sue enjoyed traveling, having visited England and Scotland, as well as several states and many Civil War
battlefields. He supported his grandchildren in school and sports events
in which they were involved, and enjoyed attending many baseball, football and
soccer games as well as band concerts and school programs.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; his mother,
Rosemary of Francisco; son, Michael (Melissa) Clem, of Marysville, Ohio;
daughter, Susan (Kurt) Nyberg, of Winchester, Va.; two step-daughters, Janel (Levi) Rash, of Huntsville; Jodi (Shawn) Hanes, of
Jackson Center, Ohio; sister, Marilyn (Glen) Young, of Princeton; eight
grandchildren, Zach, Hunter, Grace, Sullivan, Soren,
Riley, Reagan and Elin.
He was preceded in death by his father,
Warner Clem; and his brother, Larry.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011 at Pharisburg United Methodist Church with Pastors Linda Chamberlain-Jones and Mo Dunn
officiating. Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Stofcheck-Ballinger
Funeral Home, in Richwood, Ohio where a Masonic Service will take place at 4 p.m.
